Another Day, Another Dollar (or 25 cents in my case)

Here we are again, it is the Sunday before the 4th of July, and instead of getting drunk at a BBQ, the boss and I are stuck in the PEECC again. It feels like this building is my home, I have been stuck in here seemingly forever. Once again, we are back to where we were yesterday and it doesn't seem like we are going to be getting any further. Once again, the rest of the plant is not really ready to support what we need to do.
On another note, I have had a lot of time to think over the past couple days. I realized that when I went to Alaska the people that I met working on the North Slope (Prudhoe Bay on the map) fell mostly into two groups.
The first group is the people that just need the money (for various reasons, but usually because of divorce/family issues). They have a pretty sweet deal up there, where all of your food and housing is taken care of, and you get 6 months off per year (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off). The pay up there is high, mostly above 6 figures...
The 2nd group is the people that are just trying to get away from the rest of the world (or at least the people that know them). These guys love to work long shifts (16+ hours) and they don't really care if they get their 2 weeks off or not. It is easy to get away from things in a state that is over 500k sq miles with less then 650k people!
After thinking about these two groups of people, I realized that most of the people that I work with all fall into the above two groups as well. However, with my company, there is also a small 3rd group that is just trying to use this job as a stepping stone. Deep thoughts....
